Cesky Krumlov - Czech Republic
A jewel near the Austrian border
18.01.2006 -15 °C
A long bus trip from Prague lead us to the castle Cesky Krumlov, an ancient castle in very good condition surrounded by a moat. We walked around the paremeter inspecting all the interesting architecture and diversity. Many quaint shops dotted the streets and snow made this magnificient sight.

We trekked to the top of the castle even though it was closed for the winter and found a snow covered city below. We also saw historic wall murals, courtyards and the entrance to the vast, seasonsal garden above the castle grounds. During seasonal months, the castle crypt, interior, stables and gardens are open. We hope to return when the sun shines, perhaps during summer.
